Notice to Voters in Houston County, Georgia
Of Intent to Process Absentee Ballots
Prior to the Closing of the Polls
For the November 3, 2020
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(1)(G)(4) and State Election Board Rule 183-1-14-0.9-.15 you are hereby notified that it is the intent of the Houston County Board of Elections to begin processing paper absentee ballots cast during the November 3, 2020 General/Special Election at the Houston County Board of Elections located at 801 Main Street, Perry:
- October 19, 2020 – October 30, 2020 (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday)
- October 24, 2020 (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Saturday)
- November 2, 2020 (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday)
- November 3, 2020 (7:00 AM, Tuesday-Election Day - until completed)
The early processing of absentee ballots before the closing of the polls shall be a controlled process in order to maintain the secrecy of all ballots and to protect against the collection or disclosure of any balloting information before the close of the polls at 7:00 PM on Election Day.

The Board of Elections is responsible for conducting fair and impartial elections and registering citizens to vote. Elections and registration are conducted in accordance with the Georgia Election code, State Election Board Rules, Federal, and Local Laws.
