QUALIFICATIONS TO REGISTER

You must be:

• a citizen of the United States
• a legal resident of Georgia and the county in which you wish to vote
• at least 17 1/2 years old to register and 18 years old on or before election day to vote in that election

You may NOT register to vote if:

• you are serving a sentence imposed by the conviction of a felony
• judicially determined to be mentally incompetent

?? DO I HAVE TO REGISTER BY PARTY ??

In the state of Georgia, you do not have to register by political party to vote in the state's regular primaries or general elections.

• The last day to register is 30 days prior to an election.
• Mail-in application must be postmarked by the US Postal Service 30 days prior to an election
• If you have moved/changed your name you must notify our office 30 days prior to an election

Once your application is approved and processed a precinct card will be mailed within two to three weeks. If you do not receive your card, please contact our office or you can visit the poll locator on the Secretary of State's website.
